A feud between judges on the Khmer Rouge war crimes tribunal erupted anew on Monday, with a Cambodian judge welcoming the resignation of a European counterpart who quit last week complaining of improper interference in ongoing probes.
Cambodian co-investigating Judge You Bunleng, in a lengthy statement, said he is convinced the resignation of Swiss Judge Laurent Kaspar-Ansermet shows he is “taking responsibility for his professional as well as his procedural misconduct.”
Last week, Kasper-Ansermet said he could not continue his duties because of repeated challenges to his authority from You Bunleng.
The tribunal has been marred by allegations of political interference by the Phnom Penh government, which is on record as opposing any new investigations of Khmer Rouge suspects. You Bunleng has been reluctant to pursue two new investigations, while Kasper-Ansermet wanted to press ahead with the cases.
The tribunal has already sentenced one former Khmer Rouge official to life in prison, and is currently hearing a second case against the group's three top surviving leaders. The trio faces charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity in the deaths of some 1.7 million Cambodians who died under Khmer Rouge rule in the 1970s.

It is time for UN to bring the KR Trial to The Hague. The KR trial will not be a free and fair trial if it is in Cambodia.
The little kid also knows that. Don't waste time and money in Cambodia. Bring all the KR leaders including the former KR leaders who are in power in Cambodia now. Those KR must face trial as well.

It is clear that attempts to cover up the truth and finding justice to the Khmer people will become difficult when you have judges in the KR trail who favor CPP agenda which is ultimately meeting Vietnam demands and cover up of their involvments in the Genocide.
If the KR court is effective it would have not cost $200M tax payer money to prosecute 1 guy. While the rest are out there living free from their crimes i refer to many members of the CPP officials.
So in short to save money and bring about proper justice for the Khmer people. The UN need to move this KR court out to International judges and ensure it properly run and it should done quickly and all suspected parties should be brough before the International UN court.
